Getting to Xinyi
Regardless of which Taipei airport you arrive in, your journey to Xinyi district should take a while. However, if you arrive at Taipei Songshan Airport and decide to shell out for a taxi, you could reduce your travel time to around 20 minutes. Otherwise, public transport options – whether it be by train, bus or a mixture of the two – could easily take that past an hour.
The inexpensive options from Taoyuan International Airport include travelling by train, which should take about an hour, or by bus, which can take anywhere between that time and an hour more, depending on which services are available. Transfers are to be expected. A taxi is your most expensive option, costing up to ten times the amount of public transport, but it does reduce your journey time to under an hour, dependent on traffic.
