Shinjuku

Great For

Shopping, museums, theatre

Not Great For

People who don’t like crowds

A special ward in Tokyo, Shinjuku is a major commercial centre of the capital. If you know anything about this city, you’ll know that means there’s certainly no shortage of things to do and things to buy here. But it’s not all bright lights and retail therapy: Shinjuku also has a terrific selection of cultural attraction showcasing its hidden depths. It’s especially well known for museums and theatres. This mixture makes it an ideal place to stay for those who want to be right where the action is. Although it is a very busy part of the city, it can in places show off a quieter side too.
